Why is there a gun and ammo panic now?

Are you for supporting gun rights or are you not?

If you are for gun rights, you would see opportunities during coronavirus to advance our fight for 2A.

Now is not the time to be pessimistic rather optimistic about new gun owners becoming gun rights activists, many like us on THR. Sure the run on guns wiping out gun counters and increasing gun prices may be irritating to some for now but the fact is, these guns are now in the hands of potential future gun rights activists to fight with us, for our gun rights.

AND you know NOTHING about me, so I'll thank you to not pigeon hole me..

You are showing your lack of teaching and debating skills. LiveLife has years of experience and is a very good teacher with tons of patience. I’ve learned a good bit from him and value his opinion. I agree with his take on the how the youngsters think and they’re activist style. Once they zone in on a cause, they back it with tons of energy.

I appreciate his knowledge and years of experience. I see his 22,500 number..I just don't agree with his assessment of new gun owners. I DON'T like the idea that he is assuming I'm NOT a responsible gun owner because I question the future motivations of these new gun owners. Hence the question-

BTW-didn't know this was a debate, with winners and losers..thought it was a discussion group. Not here to teach, here to discuss.

Why is there a gun and ammo panic? Well, in my area:
- The city and county are releasing criminals from jail - I guess they don’t want to be sued if inmates contract the virus.
- A significant number of police officers have tested positive, and are off the job and in quarantine.
- Law enforcement is considering responding only to emergency calls.
- Many, many people are now out of work.
- Most retail businesses, including entire shopping malls, have been ordered closed; there is not enough law enforcement staff to protect all of these businesses, which could became targets of burglary or looting if the situation deteriorates.

in short, crime is likely to increase, and police protection is diminished. Many were not prepared for such a situation, and are now frightened.

I'm tapping out for now. I have to figure out my afib, and how we are going to nanny my grand daughters, whose mom is a nurse, w/o threatening my wife, who is asthmatic. In other words, more important things on my plate.
