I’d argue real operators don’t have time for ear plugs And not being able to hear will get you killed (or wife will hate you for “ignoring” her. ). But I’m just a dumb redneck.Because it's not tacticool and doesn't promote operator play.
Way I look at it, you paid for it twice when you threw it out.View attachment 977901
every time I buy a new one the first thing I do is throw the flash hider or muzzle brake in the trash and put a thread protector on it. When you shoot out the pickup window it’s not too bad on the ears. An inch or so shorter too! I would think manufacturers would want to save the dollar too.
Yea and you need ears on to shoot the thing. The A2 hider makes a hell of a muzzle protector
You pay for it, like it or not when you buy it.I would think manufacturers would want to save the dollar too.
FH or thread protector, you still need hearing protection.Yea and you need ears on to shoot the thing.
3200fps is Mach 2.8 with or without, that thread protector is not going to be a lot quieter than a FH.Yea and you need ears on to shoot the thing.

Nor are you a real operator. (I'm not either.) They have sophisticated comms that block gunfire enough so they can hear their team, yet are sensitive enough so team member in close contact can whisper and be heard.I’d argue real operators don’t have time for ear plugs And not being able to hear will get you killed (or wife will hate you for “ignoring” her. ). That and shooting 'out the pickup window' is illegal in many states.

Not in WI and MN, unless you have a permit to do so from the DNR, issued to disabled hunters only. It's not the shooting from the truck that is illegal it's the shooting from/on a public right of way that is. If you're in the middle of a field you own you can shoot out of your truck all you want.
Not in my experience! An A2 flash hider is noticeably louder than a normal muzzle...
There’s not enough difference to save your ears. Give me a good brake over a thread protector any day of the week.I’d argue real operators don’t have time for ear plugs And not being able to hear will get you killed (or wife will hate you for “ignoring” her. ). But I’m just a dumb redneck.
For hunting yes, but if you want to target shoot from your tuck I would bet that is legal. Not in WI and MN, unless you have a permit to do so from the DNR, issued to disabled hunters only.
I need to check the regs again but I don't believe you can even have a loaded gun in your truck here lolFor hunting yes, but if you want to target shoot from your tuck I would bet that is legal.
