Why on earth is the Glock .380's banned in the US???

When I went to GAC it was mentioned the machinery to mold frames was being installed in Syrma. When the equipment is up and running it would be possible to make a totally American Glock. Once that happens it could happen that the 380s would be produced.

Again the question is why when the 380 is the same size as the 9/40.

And if Glock is listening I enter my vote for a 7.62X25!

FWIW, I have read on a few forums and from a few dealers, that the .380 Diamondback is very much like a Glock as far as how it's assembled, but it just doesn't have the look of a Glock. LM

From time to time Glock does import the G25 & G28 but they are only available to LEOs. I used to know a LEO that bought a G28 years ago. He had to get an OK from his higher ups and had to have signatures on official dept letter head paper. Magazines are unique and are hard to come by. Myself I don't see the need to buy a G28 when I could get a G33 that weighs the same and is the same size.

Not that Glocks are that expensive, but I don't see a real market for them here when Bersa and Ruger .380's can be had for half the cost.....

Glock sells the 25 & 28 in the USA only to LE agencies.

The .380ACP Glocks are blow back operated and have slightly more felt recoil than the 9x19mm Glocks.

Unless it's for collecting purposes, there is no real reason to want a Glock 25 or 28.
Glock 25 (.380ACP) = same size as Glock 19 (9x19mm), 23 (.40S&W), 32 (.357SIG) & 38 (.45GAP)
Glock 28 (.380ACP) = same size as Glock 26 (9x19mm), 27 (.40S&W), 33 (.357SIG) & 39 (.45GAP)

I asked about this same thing some time ago. I'm collecting guns, and in the Glock category the 25 is the one to get simply because it is so hard to come by. I'm intrigued by the possibility of totally American made Glocks making it possible to manufacture domestically and thus easily own one, but that also would make the novelty of owning one right now not nearly as novel. In line to what Runningman said, as far as I know, a police officer can't order one just because they're LE, the actual department itself has to request the importation of one. With all the bad rap about .380, that doesn't usually happen and that makes it very hard to find.

Even if it did sell well here, other than the "collect 'em all" folks who must have one of every model, I don't think it'd fair particularly well against all the micro-.380's, many of which are far less expensive.

They'd have to make it smaller to compete, IMO. True collectors aside, only a retard would buy a less powerful and sharper recoiling gun with more expensive ammo than it's counterpart of the exact same dimensions. It'd be like buying an F-150 sans shock absorbers and with a four cylinder engine that required race fuel, yet was still considerably slower than the equally priced V-8 model.
