Since there are more and more barrels and firearms being offered in stainless steel, Why is there still so few choices in quality silver finished scope? I know NCSTAR and Baraka makes a whole bunch of them but they are hit or miss. Call me a gear snob but am I the only one out here that enjoys the look of a silver barrel with a quality silver scope?

Well..........not to sound rude, but a lot of people prefer substance over style. And silver is not exactly the best color to flash around in the field. I've found that getting the silver on the scope to actually match the stainless never happens. But black goes with everything, remember?

Casio;

Hmmm, where you lookin'? I've not had a problem matching a stainless scope to the gun. The Weaver Grand Slam on my .30-06 is an extremely close match in color. Can't knock the optics, they're outstanding.

As for the absolute hooey about the stainless finish scopes spooking game, it's just that - pure hot air IMHO. The Weaver's matte surface also matches the gun, it's just not a problem. Or, perhaps one should say it's only a problem for those with too much time on their hands & not enough experience in the field.

I've seen stainless available in several good lines of scopes: Leupold, my Weaver, Nikon, Zeiss. All good glass in the finish you want.

I can say that I bought a stainless rannch rifle and when I went to buy a scope, my buddy told me not to buy a stainless scope due to reflection...I think. So I ended up with a matte Leupold.
