Why so hard to want something long enough to get it?

38 super STI Trojan or Sig 9mm elite full size?
I have been on the wagon for a STI Trojan in 38 super for a bit. As I approach the goal post I'm starting to get the desire for a full frame sig in 9mm to accompany a compact. I love the 1911s and as of yet have not owned a Sig.
What do ya think. Sig full frame say a p226 scorpion or an Elite stainless, or STI Trojan in 38 super?

If only they made a P226 Stainless SAO. They make the stainless, they make the SAO, but I can't find on their site that both can be had in the same gun.

Is money an issue? If so, buy a gun that can use mags that you already have. Buy a few short mags that fit flush and use the full length mags as necessary.

Also remember that 1911's can have significant reliability issues and may require a trip to the gunsmith. Your expectation with the SIG should be that it is excellent out of the box. If you to fool around with 1911's, then keep in mind that it is going to need extra time and money.

Logically I know that ultimately I will have both. But At this point in time it's a choice for which one is first, knowing that the other will have to wait for some time.

Money an issue? Always.

both are in about the same price range though.

It is a gun addiction. There are so many things you want. You covet one for so long, and then something else comes along for you to covet

I would go with the STI in .38 Super and get an extra 9mm. barrel assembly. Just swap out barrels and add some 9mm. mags and you're good to go.

Thats sounding like a pretty good idea. I guess when I order they can have a 9mm barrel fitted as well. Wonder if the 38 super magazine would feed the 9mm. There's not that much length between them. If so I could save on the magazine. Two for one.........Starting to sound like I can't afford not to.

Most them will, some will give ya fits as the 9 is a little more tapered for the feed lips...

The Sig P226 X5 Competition is an all stainless SAO pistol. But it is pricey, Sig's MSRP is $1976. Additional X-Five series pistols are listed on the Sig website under their master shop series section.
