Why so much hate for the DU?

I love DU. Reading them makes me feel like I am normal.

People hate DU because they are like a taliban version of the people I go to law school with. Imagine instead of reasoned debate, you had reasoned debate of only one side, with bannage for anyone who even plays devil's advocate.

Mmmm, groupthink for the win.

beerslurpy's got it right. Law schools were and are filled with these people.

It's a telling statement that the group that advocates tolerance across the board has no tolerance for dissenting opinions. In law school, you were ridiculed for not towing the party line or for being something other than "enlightened." DU is the same way. You can say anything you want . . . as long as it's what the group wants to hear.
