I've never been able to figure out why so many gun photos show a shotgun shell resting in the trigger guard of the pistol being photographed..............

Seriously, I'm a safety nazi when it comes to firearms...when I teach and when I shoot. But sometimes I think we need to all chill just a bit and have some faith that the picture taker has a shred of sense. Yes I realize that safety is paramount but if we want our guns to be 100% foolproof we'd encase them in a block of acrylic or have them cut up with a blowtorch.
