got home from work and found a nef sb2 .223 handi rifle. in pretty good shape. has a tasco scope already mounted and an ammo sleeve on the rear, and sling. all black. after searching here it looks like they are a decent cheap gun that is pretty accurate. gonna try to get it out and shoot it later this week. anyone else have any stories on them.. what ammo have you shot through it? thanks

yeah its an anniversary gift. we will do the dinner thing tomorrow night. i think she paid $200 for it, not much under new price, but im not complaining.seems to be the going price or around it anyways. ive kinda shyed away from NEF guns, but the reviews are all turning out pretty good...

a few things; try lots of diff ammo; but then you need to check how tight you make the takedown screw. It's tension can throw off groups. Also, when sighting in , try to keep the front rest in the exact same place every time. If you put your front bag way up front under the front fore end, you could put extra tension on the bbl. I allways put the front bag right up next to the trigger guard. Lastly, you may wanna , after you get a pretty accurate round going, put a little pressure pad up front, to see if it tightens up groups or not.
Actually this is good for all rifles, and works on all of them, It is just more pronounced, on the break open single shots.

Ok first look deep into your wifes eye's ............and say thank you honey.......I love you, that will count more than dinner. now 223 nef are accurate as all getout and fun to shoot, one shot one kill, and you don't go through ammo my friend has one he uses walmart rem 55 gr and has good result's.get rid of that tasco and invest in a nikon .OO YAA and take her to DINNER LOL..;):)

just picked up 240 rds of wolf from sportsmans guide for $70 shipped. its the 62 grain hp stuff. about the cheapest ammo i could find for it. ive got a box of remington she picked up to get me through until it arrives. hope to get it out and shoot it tommorrow

I heard they are very accurate, but my accuracy standards are different to someone else. Try some black hills match or federal gold match (I think they make that in 223) for an idea of what good ammo will do through it.

the nice thing is that you can send the receiver back to nef, and have them fit diff cal bbls to that same receiver; so you can put say a 762x39 or 308 up there, or even a nice 45/70!!!!

well the gun absolutely would not eject the wolf ammo.... i shot 6 shells of the steel cased wolf and 4 of them stuck. had to eventually get a cleaning rod and slide it down the barrel to pop them out.. so i sent the ammo back to sportsmans guide. the brass cased remington stuff kicked right out everytime. went to walmart tonight and got 3 boxes of the umc stuff two boxes rang up 9.47 and the third rang up 12.97.. dont know how that happened, but i just went with it.. the gun shot well i think im gonna like it
