I open my Gun Safe/RSC at a minimum twice a day. Once in the morning to put up my nightstand weapon and get out my CCW. Then again in the evening to put up my CCW and get out the nightstand weapon. Since I have only had my RSC for a short time, I am also constantly finding things that I think I need to put in there other than guns.

Does this sound obsessive to you?

How many times a day do you open your Safe/RSC??

I think it sounds like you have a new toy and want to play with it. Which makes you no different than anyone else that gets something new.

The real problem is that you don't have enough guns.

If the Safe was full of guns you wouldnt feel a need to play with it and find other things to keep in there.

In order to cure this strange safe obsession, your wife needs to take you to the gun store and help you buy some more guns.

How big did you say the safe was again?????

Just a new toy

I tried to wear out the knobs on mine when I first got it. I also try to wear out my guns when they come in, as well.

So far, I have been unsuccessful.

I also agree that you need to 'fill 'er up'. When it becomes difficult to close the door, you will be less inclined to open it. Or so I have heard. ;)

Explain that to her, I bet she'll shut up about your 'obsession'.

Geez. My wife yells at me if I lock it before we walk out the door, because she might need to get in it. I make holsters, so it's common for me to go into the safe 5-6 times a day, and I work on a college campus (grad student) so I have to put up/retrieve my CCW every day as well. Then there's her CCW.

I just leave it unlocked when we're home, and lock it before walking out the door.

Yep, my wife said the same thing. I have a safe by the bed that holds our home defence pistol and a large safe in the closet that holds the rest of my guns. I keep the keys to the large safe in the small safe so I have to open the small safe, get the keys, open the big safe to put my every day gun away, then rinse and repeat in the morning to get it back out.

I simply reminded her that we have two very intelligent children and one has started shooting with me and that it's a felony in Florida to have guns easily accessible to children.

She shut up.
