I have a Marlin 1895G with the straight stock. Will a curved stock and lever simply bolt on? I looked at a straight stock and curved stock Marlin side by side, and it looks like it would work, but I would like to know for sure before buying the parts.
Thanks for any help.

The lower tang on pistol grip Marlins is curved. At least mine is.
A pistol grip stock and lever on a straight grip receiver would leave an ugly gap. Maybe you could whittle out a filler. Same idea as round butt to square butt revolver grip conversions.

What has Adam Ant got to do with Marlins?

Thanks Jim, I found a post where a fellow has done the conversion, and the part you list is the other part I will need to replace to do it. I am going to call Marlin tomorrow to get a price on the parts and possibly order them if it isnt ridiculously expensive.

Here is the link to the parts list/directions:

I talked to Marlin customer service and the price is $220 to get them to do this. They said they dont sell the trigger plate, so a gunsmith supposedly couldnt even order it. I think I will make due with the straight stock, $220 is a wee bit steep for me.

If you get the correct parts, it should work perfectly. I did one of these last week. The owner is very happy with the result. Total cost of parts from Numrich was approximately $150 for the trigger plate, finger lever and a new buttstock complete. Numrich has various other buttstocks that would have saved around $30, but they're all in the "other" category (birch, painted camo, or "shopworn" walnut"). It's a very straightforward job.
