Will it hurt to clean with hoppes 9 then leave a thin coat of hoppes 9 until I get somewhere where I can get some gun oil? Just wondering, thanks in advance.

I sure as heck would not coat my firearm with it.

Hoppes #9 is a solvent, not a protective coating.


Use it for it's intended purpose only.

It won't hurt anything but depending on how good of a cleaning job you did you might get some impressively green patches out of the barrel.

don't substitute WD40 for remoil for very long....................
