Today I needed to clean an electric drill that was coated in oil and dirt. Usually I would have used mineral spirits. But since I had just finished cleaning a gun, I decided to use Hoppe's No. 9.

It worked well and now my drill smells good.

Are there any other uses for Hoppe's No. 9?

-When empty , you can hold the bottle up to the light and look thru it...

-Trying to refill the small bottle from the quart one, tests one dexterity...funnel? I'm a guy, we don't do funnels, can't spill stuff as easy with funnels...

-Removes gun powder residue from wall light switches and door knobs...

-Take a old bottle and stick colored pipe cleaners in it and use for desk decoration at work with blissninnies around. Not a requirement to sign "Get Well" card when passed around office when blissninnies strokes out...

-Penetrates well enough to get a hinge out of a door, lug nut off a vehicle, and that drill bit that somehow turned the drill to "reverse" and got itself stuck...

-Removes stickers, crayon marks, makeup ...

-Pretty flames

-Lets all folks new to your place know which room is gun room....

Sacrifices have been made in the name of Freedom.

I regret I only had one small empty Hoppe's No. 9 Bottle in which BBs were placed and *somehow* found itself in the back, rear storage area of Blissninnie-mobile.

I cannot confirm or deny a blissininne suffering due to a irratating noise that "just started" at the start of a road trip, Dealer (s) failed to find said noise, and said noise only stopped after the vehicle was traded in ...

Use Enough BBs

Well, I have found at least one other use....

My wife has found that when she's amorous, that a dab of Hoppe's No. 9 behind each ear trumps all of Victoria's Secrets combined. :D

my girlfriend once asked if using a little hoppes #9 would get me to spend as much time on her as it did my guns...

I told her to "try it and find out"

She did...

then I did... it makes a fine pheremone attractant to the gunny male...

Here is a practical use. If your computer mouse ball doesn't seem to get very good traction, rub it down with a cloth damp with Hoppes, fixes it right up.

lol.contest proposition for moderators

lol....i would like to start a hoppes #9 alternate used contest. the best project or idea (picture is needed) will win a 1960's era pharmacist scale shipped to their home. i used to collect pharmacy stuff and now i have a new hobby. please post your pix and ideas right on this thread. i will select (or will ask for a vote) the winner or winners and send the item. end date 2/28/06

Hoppe's cuts right through the WD-40 residue from all of your failed "How many uses are there for WD-40" contest entries...

Another Use

hi guys,

I put a tablespoon #9 in my breakfast biscuits when up in the mountains with the guys....

OK guys many good ways to use #9 If it starts attracting women who start taking over all of your guns and you buy her a gun and still can't get rid of her you might need to switch to "Break Free":neener:

You must not be using it right. It's supposed to attract women who already have their own guns...

Cat repellant! :D

The first time mine sniffed a patch while I was cleaning, she recoiled and backed away so fast that she fell right off of the table. (The look on her face was absolutely priceless)

I've found that a dab near furniture keeps her at bay, too. Those with scratchers might want to keep that in mind because the classic spray bottle filled with water doesn't work.

For a second there, I thought you were talking about my ex-wife!
