Will the .17 hmr last?

On the practical side, I can feed either my .22lr's or the .223 & get the same, or more, done for less money spent.

I fall into the same category -- I have a wall full of .22s, from a couple of antique Stevens to a Springfield M1922 to a formal position-shooting rifle to my M82 Kimber. Throw in a Ruger 77/22 in .22 Magnum and another Kimber in .22 Hornet, and I just have no burning need for a .17 HMR.
