I have some old 452 powder and I want to load some 180gr 357's for my desert eagle .11.1 gr seems to be enough to cycle the slide with 158gr bullets, any one got some old load data?
thanks CC
I had never heard of the powder. The reverse temp sensitivity goes against standard logic. We had a word for it in analytical chemistry, but my head has been leaking too much. As one poster said, be careful.
Yes it is reverse temp sensitive. The odd one per say. So if your shooting in cold weather you need to be aware of it. It is a super clean burn powder though. I use it for all my 45acp loads aka WST.
Wow - Win 452 AA? That was the first powder I ever bought when I started reloading - on my plastic Lee Load-All! I thought it made a great 12 ga. powder, but by the time my can was empty, they had stopped making it.
Well I dropped my load to 8.5 gr with the 180 gr bullets and it cycles the slide no problem I don't know the speed because I don't have a crono ,and with the DE being gas operated it still feels soft thanks for all your input.
