I'm considering adding a Williams Peep Sight to one of my Win 94 Rangers (.30-30) 20" standard length barrel. Williams sells it as a set with a fiber optic front sight. Midway sells the same model without the front sight.
Will this rear sight work with the factory front sight or will I have to use a different front sight?

Question 2.
One of my 94's is a new, cross bolt safety, lawyerized model in like new condition. The other is a 1981 Top Eject, beater, truck gun with a rust damaged receiver but like new internally with a very nice bore.
Which one should I put the peep sight on?
Both will be used for deer and plinking but the sites are different for each model.

thanks,
Chris

My dad put a Williams "Fool Proof" and bead front on his old 94 back in the early 60s` it works great but you do need to change the front ramp to the bead in my opinion.
I can`t tell you which to hang the sight on but I`d do it on the one that goes in the woods most often today. The gun you carry likely ain`t goin` to change just because of a sight.

I use the Williams rear sight with the Winchester factory front sight. It would be better with something higher visibility, but it works.

do be careful in selecting sights due to the fact that the "Ranger" and Traditional models use completely different front sight setups and are different heights. i bought the fibre optic Tru-Glo sights for my Ranger only to discover that the front sight is different and will not fit the Ranger. the rear sight works but the front had to remain stock.
