I am working on a friends model 74. In detailed cleaning of the rifle,I am breaking down to what I will call the feed ramp when I find a small angled ,flat
piece of metal that is held by one screw to the bottom of the ramp. It is broken at the top where it apparently bends. Anybody out there really good on these 74's. I need to ID this piece and get a replacement. I've been to Numrich site and ordered a diagram but have not received it yet. I'll try to downsize and attach the photos I have taken. Thanks. Joel

Is the rifle a .22 Short only model, or a .22 S-L-LR version.

If it is a .22 Short model, that appears to be the Cartridge Retainer.
Least thats all I can think of.

The cartridge cut-off and magazine throat in them are both held in by pins.
Only the .22 Short model Cartridge Retainer is held by a screw best I remember.

This is a short only .22 cal. model 74. Very early s/n. Definatley held by a screw.
What should the shape of this part look like. It appears broken at the top because of rough ragged edge. Should it perhaps make a 90 degree bend there?
