Winchester 6.5 StaBall in the 6.5CM... how good is it?

6.5 staball has been very good in multiple calibers for me. Its not the best for ES. But does good for groups and speed in many calibers. I'm .5moa using it in 243 90gr AB. It works great in my 250 sav. 6.5 CM and 6.5 PRC. I can get under 1" in all those calibers, so It's very versatile.

When it comes to accuracy and consistency ball powders < stick powders

That's the general consensus, but they are coming up with new formulations all the time... I was just curious if the StaBall series, and particularly 6.5, had any merit. I've been having good luck so far with TAC in the .308, running up against the All Time World Champ IMR4064, although I'm still in the testing phase of that as well.

Bass Pro ... 8lbs of H4350 cost me $353 out the door. Still not cheap, but cheaper than any other source I can find, including mail order.
I may wind up grabbing that 8# at the LGS
Latest pricing from Recob's with some of lowest prices I have seen in recent years (Titegroup $199/8 lbs) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ad-link-required.910908/page-22#post-12786623

Is that an on-line company? Those prices look good, but by the time you add shipping, hazmat and tax its more than buying local.

Yeah, I saw that too. Good price, if you're local. I went through their checkout process and with shipping ($21) and hazmat ($48), an 8lber of H4350 would cost me $384 delivered, so about $30 more than I paid at Bass Pro. Still, some good prices if the shipping and hazmat don't run up the cost too much for you.

During the last several component shortages, I learned the value of "Group Buy".

I networked with reloaders/shooters/hunters/match shooters and had their wish list so when I saw a good sale/deal, spreading shipping/HazMat only added few dollars to my items.

Ask around at the range/club and you will quickly find a long list of shooters who reload. ;)

And when you see free shipping/HazMat sales, group buy essentially adds like $1-$2 to your order.

It got to the point during last two shortages that I was getting low enough prices to entice LGS and they would buy whatever was left from the group buy (As I bought more popular powders/primers) or specified items they wanted ... And I would even end up trading/bartering with them too for slow moving items I was interested in so it was Win-Win.

So ask around.
