According to the USRAC website, they're shipping some/most M70s with new bottom metal that includes the trigger guard and floorplate hinge in a one-piece assembly. This looks like a nice solution to the accuracy problems that are sometimes (at least in my experience) caused by the middle action screw (at the front of the trigger guard).

Has anyone got one of these? Do you think it shoots any more accurately? I've never sprung for the Williams version, which runs around $175. The list price on the new Winchester part (aluminum, not steel) is around $60 including the floorplate, so I might order one to see whether accuracy improves in my 70s, but I'd like to hear from the congregation on this before I do.

I can't even find it on their website, other than the "marketing" press release. I'd like to get one for my Featherweight. Is it LA, SA, or all of the above?

The M70 Classic LT Super(grade?) model has a one-piece metal bottom, I believe, made of steel. At least, the parts diagram shows one.

None of the parts diagrams on the usrac site show the one piece bottom metal setup. It was just announced in Jan 1, 04, so it may be too new.

I called USRAC (Browning) Parts today. They have listings for at least the SA models in polished black anodized, matt black anodized and polished "stainless" (aluminum) finishes. These were listed separately on a "new parts" sheet.

Chris,
Sorry for the delay, but here's a link to the M70 parts list.. USRAC's web site is pretty weak - I don't know whether you can get to this page from the Home Page through links or not. I knew it existed and googled it. Download the m70lt.pdf file; it's the first one in the M70 section. The last of the four pages shows "One-piece bottom metal" for $99.95. It may not fit your Featherweight, though.
