Winchester 70 Value

I’ve got a ‘53 production in 270, had a ‘65 production 270 and have a Stainless Classic in 300 Wim Mag. I’ve got Sakos, Remingtons, Rugers, Krico, and the list goes on. The dreaded ‘65 production with impressed checkering and push feed bolt, free floated barrel was not nearly as nicely built it was a great shooter. Though when my uncle offered to trade me straight across for the ‘53 production standard weight model, it took about 30 seconds t remove the scope. It’s a good shooter, not great, just plenty good for hunting with ranges of 1/4 mile or so, done a lot of that over the years. The Stainless Classic is the best made, except for the abominable injection moulded synthetic stock, than the other two, in fact probably better than my Sakos and Krico. However; if I had to part with all but one rifle the old ‘53 production model 70 would be the keeper. Nothing wrong with any other brand or vintage guns I own and use, but there’s just something about a Pre-64 Model 70, just like my Model 12s and 42s. No, it’s not for sale, don’t need another either, unless it’s a 22 Hornet, 358 Winchester, or a 257 Roberts!
