Have appraised several. Go get ahold of a bluebook, learn the rating methods and understand that a rebuild, restoration, or refinish does not necessarily enhance value. If it is not in an original caliber, doesn't have a correct barrel, has the numbers/letters buffed out, it is a parts donor. I'd have to see it to believe in a value of 1200. I can be wrong but I've seen too many butchered 86s, hiwalls, lowalls and 92s/73s that people thought were worth a fortune but would be hard pressed to bring 500 as parts guns. If you like it, and want it and don't plan to turn a huge profit, buy it.
