Maybe someone here can help, but I'm looking for a manufacturer that makes a copy of the old Winchester 1887/1901 lever action shotguns...

I've remember seeing a company that makes em (and for pretty cheap too) but I can't remember where, and my searches prove nothing.

Help please!

Thanks!

As Dfariswheel said, they are made in China, imported by IAC, I found them a while ago and I must say I like mine a lot. I went so far as to contact IAC and ask if there are any plans to make a "modern" barrel for it, so I could use non-lead ammo.
I've put a couple boxes of shells through it now,and I've gotta say it is a very nice piece. I like mine a lot.
Good luck getting one.

Are these strong enough to take standard Winchester No4, No6 and No3 loads? I fancy one as pumps and semi autos are restricted here, you have to get a fancy license to get one, but these levers are just treated as a normal shotgun. I wouldn't mind one for blastinhg hares at night of fthe back of a speeding truck. I mostly shoot them on a govt' research station on crop trial paddocks. The foreman loves driving the truck as drives like a man possessed, I cannot get him out of the habit of zig zagging with the running hare. naturally when the truck is lurching like this, they are hard to hit and it is difficult to reload under these conditions. A 4-5 shot shotgun would be the ticket.

How does one get a job like that? Sounds more like
an Xtreme varmint hunting sport than a government
agricultural job. smiley

I have seen the Chinese made lever guns at two local
gun shops (TN USA) and they do appear popular with the
cowboy action shooter crowd. In fact, they seem to be held
in higher regard than the Chinese made Winchester 1897
pumps, which probably are restricted in Australia anyway.
