I was elk hunting in a drizzle, which turned cold. I was carrying Bigfoot Wallace, my custom '03 in .35 Brown-Whelen. This rifle has a Mashburn trigger, which is an enclosed design similar to the new Model 70s. It froze up.
My backup rifle was a pre-'64 Model 70 in .30-06, and I had no trouble.
I'd go with the Kimber because it has an open trigger design.
