I've got a Winchester Mod. 94 "Ranger" in 30-30 (of course) that I picked up as part of a trade. It's got 1894-1994 stamped on the side of the receiver. Can I assume, then, that it was made/sold in 1994? The serial No. is 60959xx

I think all of the 94s made that year are stamped to commemorate the 100th year of that model. My Trapper #6156000 is so marked.

Thank you. That was basically what I wanted to know. I'm just trying to figure out what it's worth before I offer it for sale/trade. I don't hunt, and really don't have a use for this gun. I just couldn't pass up a good deal.

I've got a shotgun and several pistols for HD, and if I need something with longer range I've got my "M4gery".

Being a firm believer in having a stash of ammo for all of my guns, I bought 180 rounds of 30-30 (150 and 170 gr. Core-Lokt, Silvertips, and some other hollowpoints I think...) shortly after I got the rifle. I opened a couple boxes to see what they looked like but never fired a single round.

I'm going to try to get a few good pics later today or tomorrow and I'll post it in the for sale/trade section.

Thanks for the help everybody.
