I just got an interesting shotgun in from a young lad whose grandfather passed on to him. Pretty dang neat shotgun that brings back a memory of not too long ago where I "mistakenly" provided some pro bono work for what I thought was a good deed on another forum. I didn't expect payment for an obsolete part that I made up and sent, which worked very well from the feedback I received. Never did receive even a thanks from the Mrs, who used that shotgun, but only an indiscrete ban due to her emotional feelings over a response she claimed to be against "her" rules rather than the forum rules.
Anyway, the Winchester Model 50 shotgun has been completely taken down, cleaned, properly lubed and has gone back to work once again after 10 years of dormancy.
Still though, it's hard to believe one can actually be banned from a forum for trying to do the right thing!

This points up the importance of listening. Some people simply cannot be communicated with because they don't.

I couldn't agree more. During my span of time as the "supervisor" in that department I worked in, I always did that, listened, to those who brought me "good" ideas. I ALWAYS told them I would bring them up to management, but couldn't guarantee they would be implemented, but then again, thanked them for the thought provided. Best crew I ever had.

What is your impression of model 50? I bought one in 12 gauge few years ago, and is well made with machined steel parts. It operates beautifully and is fun shooting clay games with it. Don't ever see 20 gauge models around.

I found it to be an interesting shotgun, mechanically. Especially how it operates. It's quite different, not gas operated, but still sorta soft shooting. I looked up what they were asking for these on Gunbroker and found asking prices from around $600.00 to $800.00 for the 20 gauge version. The one I had in, looked to be around 95% condition. I don't think I'd own one for myself though.
