I just recently acquired my grandfathers Winchester Model 69 (Not 69A) rifle. I have been trying to do research and I am getting conflicting info with what the rifle actually looks like. Mine has 2 dovetail grooves on the rear and one on the front for the front sight. The most rear one is empty leading me to think something is missing. I know some of them had a rear peep sight but mine has the ramp style one on the front most rear one. I am trying to determine value because I plan on selling it. I am trying to figure out if it is all original, and if not, what is missing. Here are some pics

Check out the Winchester section at rimfirecentral.com...lots of good info there.

Model 69 Winchester

Good morning. The barrel is from a Winchester Model 69, but the stock and action are suspect. The Model 69 and 69A are single shot actions. This looks like a magazine fed rifle. There is a magazine release button and a slot for the magazine underneath the stock. The cocking piece does not look right either. None of them that I own, and have seen, are knurled. Best of luck with your search. DennyMac
