Could anyone point me in the right direction for a Replacement barrel for my Winchester model 70 Featherweight? Had some money to spend, and want to try to accurize my .280, hoping to start on replacing the offcenter bored barrel. I know Lothar Walther, and Shilen,.... any others?

I have a couple rifles with custom barrels, and if I ever have another rifle rebarreled, it will have a Krieger on it. However, be prepared for a 6 month wait.

Take a look into a shilan. I have one on my savage, it has done well to say the least. decent price to.

I did some research and decided on Benchmark.
Just sent it in a week ago, can't give you any feedback yet.
No web site, you have to do some hunting to find info.
Many good ones to pick from, it's a hard decision.
Some to consider here.

I like Krieger the best, but there are other god ones out there. In fact I am considering a departure on my next build...looking into a Schneider polygonally rifled bbl instead.

:)

I went with Krieger on my 700 VS. The accuracy is unbelievable with the new barrel. I have no regrets with my choice.
