Just picked one up in .32 Win Special. It is shooting really low and no more room for adjustment. For factory loads, it looks like the Federal 170 gr. Hi-Shoks are the ticket. They are hitting about 6 inches low at 50 yards! Looking to put different sights on it anyway, maybe a dayglow up front.

What kind have you used and what do you like/dislike about them.

Do you find the hood to small on the Winchesters compared to the Marlin design?

Thanks!

Well, If you forget the sight on the barrel, that is to say remove it and put a dovetail filler blank in its place, and install a Lyman #2 tang sight, the height of the existing front sight won't be an issue. It't hitting low as is because the front sight is too high for the current rear.

On my '94, which is a .30-30 (I have a '94 Trapper in .32WinSpl. too), I just left the original bead front in place. It does fine, as do square post, for me. I've not shot a '94 that still had the front sight hood, so I have no comment on that.

I hope this helps.

I have a Williams peep on my '94. I removed the front hood due to the desire to center the target in the front "peep" caused by the hood. If I remember the sight is low in the hood.
YMMV, but mine is off of the rifle.
Love it with a peep, shot a ~3-4" 3 shot group at 150 yards off of a rest out of a cold barrel this year.

I have a '94 Big Bore AE in .356 Windhester with a Lyman peep sight. Absolutely love it; I can line it up w/ the rear sight & the front sight-makes for a scarily accurate lever rifle.
