Winchester Primers?

i have used both. reliability seems to be about the same. both send hi speed rocks downrange fine. if you are going to load near max however, you should back off a few grains and work back up.

I've used whatever I found & whatever was cheapest.
When it was Winchester, they worked just fine.

But be aware that changing primers can have serious effects on your reloads.
I saw an article recently that said pressures can spike 1 1/2 - 2 times just by changing primers.

I use CCI because they are consistently the cheapest. Barring Tula/Wolf which I won't buy unless I have to. Had the option of buying CCI SR or Winchester SP Magnum for 357 loads. Went with CCI because they were $8 cheaper per sleeve and I already have loads worked up with the SR primers.

It doesn't matter which SP primers I like. They disappeared from the store shelves in my area a couple of months ago. I've got a few 1000 Winchesters I bought last year but I really don't have a preference. They all go Bang when I pull the trigger.

I just bought 6k of them today

Now I'm glad I maintain 10K of primers as my normal inventory, I'm still buying them here in NC for $29.95/k at my LGS and have no problem getting them.

I wonder how long that will last.

I think I will start maintaining my inventory by 1k instead of 5 now.

Win are softer than CCI
Thank you for correcting me.

Did anyone look at the accuracy results I posted? I have done this many times, and the results are the same. Sometimes in favor of CCI instead of Winchester.
I'd say that the primer makes as much of a difference in accuracy as OAL, powder, etc...
