I saw a Winchester semiautomatic shotgun in the gun store today for $200. I think it was an 1100 if I remember correctly. Looked to be in decent shape. Is this a good price?

I googled "winchester 1100" but it seems as though that's a Remington model. This confused me, because I'm pretty sure that's what the tag said.

Probably a 1400 mkII. It is worth about that or a little less ($150-$175). I had one. It's a decent shotgun with a few drawbacks, an Aluminum alloy receiver being one.

Hmm...

Aluminum you say? I might have to go for the Stevens double they just got in.

Yes it has an aluminum receiver and I don't believe it is a steel lined aluminum receiver like say the savage A5 copies. Mine was very reliable but the magazine only held 3 shells (the original 1400 only held 2). The forearm is quite long and it is a big thick shotgun. Parts are not readily available.
