winchester western model 840 cooey 16g canada limited ..... whats the value and year cant find nething on this gun? its got ducks engraved on the stock.. 95% condition

The last 99% model 840 Cooey (which means made in Canada for Winchester) I could find for auction sold for a dismal $105. 16 ga makes it more unusual, less desirable as a shooter. 16 just isn't that common anymore. Shoot it and enjoy it or hang it over the mantle.

Need the serial # to get the mfg date, but as I understand it Cooey made guns 1961-80.

"...Cooey made guns 1961-80..." Cooey was making firearms long before 1961. No centrefire rifles though.
840's were designed by H. W. Cooey Machine & Arms Company. With the Winchester-Western stamps it's a post-61(Winchester bought Cooey in 1961). Same gun as a Winchester Model 370/37A.

Hi. No Cooey is worth much money. Not even up here. A 12 ga. Model 84(a slightly higher end model) runs around $100Cdn. Probably less, Stateside.
16 guage ammo is out there, but not everywhere. Midway wants $7.89 per 25 for Remington 'Game Load' ammo. Goes up from there.
