Good luck, Mike, but isn't the job of PRESIDENT already taken? (At least for a few more months.)

:p

Rusty

P.S. What sort of position is it, really? Just curious.

You're probably wondering what this picture means:

GOOD RUCK!!! :D

Yeah, just be yourself. You'll do fine. Pretend the interviewer(s) are THR members you haven't met yet.

Let us know how it all goes, eh?

Perfessr - Now that was funny! :)

I can see it now. Mike is carried out of the interview room in handcuffs by security.

Secretary says, "Mr. Smithers what was that all about? Why all the fussing and yelling in there?"

Smithers replies, "I don't have a clue. We were going over the health benefits, and I mentioned something about our agreement with Schmidt and Weston our HMO provider, when the applicant [glances at clipboard], a mister Irwin, just turned a crimson red and went all ballistic on me. Damnedest thing I've ever seen. I had to buzz security to get him off me."

:D

Cute, guys, really cute! :)

The position is writing for a group newsletter. It's every other month, goes to all the people in the group (about 8,000 people), group customers, SAIC management, etc.

It's an incredible position if I can land it.

Here's the thing...

At SAIC, when you're facing loss of job coverage, your name goes out on an internal list, from which hiring managers can pull people.

The hiring manager saw my background and called me on Tuesday. Was using words like "we're very excited to get you over here..." things like that.

The job hasn't been posted internally or externally, either.

I know they're interviewing one other candidate, and I think I might know who it is, but I really think that the job is mine to lose.

I keep telling myself not to think like that, as I'll be hellaciously disappointed if I don't get it.

I'm on pins and needles, just going nuts.

Hey Mike

Just remember, they want what you have to offer -- not vice versa.

(At least, that's the way to tell yourself it is! :D )

You'll kill the pig! (Yes, that is A Good Thingâ„¢)

All the best

Bruce

Portfolio is ready.

Spare copies of my SAIC resume are ready.

Internal references are ready.

Shirt is starched and pressed.

Shoes are shined.

Suit is hanging in closet.

Belt is ready. May do braces. Be like wearing my should holster. Very comforting. :)

Tie is out.

Socks are at the ready.

Need to find my favorite tie clip, the Winchester AA one... No, I think I'll leave that at home. :)

Hair is cut.

Moustache and eyebrows are trimmed.

Fingernails done.

Shave in the morning. New Gilette Mach 3 Turbo makes it almost impossible to cut myself, and gives me a great shave.

A small splash of Polo, and I'll be ready to roll.

I think I'm ready.

Now if I could only calm down!

MIke, I don't know you, but from what you've posted about all your prep work I'd have to say I'd give you the edge for the position. Enthusiasm is nice, no...great, to see in an applicant. Stay confident and Best of Luck!

I've worked with SAIC before--they seem like a good outfit.

We need an "after-action report."

Mike:
Good list of clothing, but one thing bothers me:
Underwear, man, don't forget the underwear!
:uhoh:

Whoa. It's kind of hard to imagine you in anything but your Molon Labe t-shirt, Mike. You gots to post a pic of you in the suit, carrying or not.

Maybe some people will have time to catch up with you posting less...
