Wish List of S&W Revolvers I'd like to see produced

S&W Model 6?? an L-Frame
in 10mm/.40 S&W 3" 4" or 5" Bbl Llen.s

S&W 25 'Classic" in .45 ACP not .45 Colt
and 4" or 6 1/2" like it should be

S&W 617 3" and 5"

S&W 616 in .327 Fed Mag .

Anybody else?

How about an L frame size revolver in .41 Magnum and/or .44 Special? Don't know if it's possible but I sure would definitely be interested in getting them both.

I've always been partial to 4" barreled 45ACP revolvers.

I like mine with the skinny barrel.

You guys aren't looking hard enough, some of those guns are already available.

They made the L frame 646 in .40 S&W in two runs - 400 PC guns in 2000 (IIRC) and 300 non-PC guns in 2003. They were not well rec'd at the time but command premium prices today.

They also made the 296 and 696, and a couple of different versions of the 396, all L frame .44spls.

Nice, original 25-2 .45ACP revolvers are readily available one the used market in the $600-$800 range. IMO, an original gun without the internal lock would be far more desirable than a "Classic" new one with the IL.

I'm sure it's probably not physically possible, but I'd like a 6 shot L-Frame in .45Auto.

I was aware and have a friend with a 696 .44 Spcl it's
a five shooter cyl.

Was the 646 a 6 shot cyl.?

I think WC145 just talked me into shopping for a used 25-2
& get the barrel shortened from 6.5" to 4" or 5"
I had a 25-2 30 or so years ago and regret selling that one.

I have a 625 5" bbl.so I've got the moon clips and
a bunch of .45 AR.

Sometimes people ask for a .45 L frame but the Cylinder
isn't big enough in diameter so it's stuck in N frames only

The 646's indeed had 6 shot, titanium cylinders.

The above is the non-PC version, the PC one had a barrel contour sorta like this 686 (.357) Pro series model:

I want a modern copy of the S&W Hand Ejector used in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". It could be .45 Colt or .45ACP, or offered as either. Swivel, blued, ramp sight, skinny barrel, and NO LOCK. ....................................................... xxxx ................................

I wish they still made the 581 - blue .357 Mag with fixed sights.

I don't know why, but the fixed sighted models have always called me.
Maybe someday I'll actually save enough to buy one. ;)

Like the 2001 Heritage models, and with blued or case hardened frames?

I took the swivel off mine to have the grips fitted that you see here:

I could write a book on "I wish S&W would..."

I would settle for a couple of reissue 4" models 66 and 629 without the frickin lock on them.

...make a better internal firing pin that doesn't break from too much dry fire (even with Snap Caps).

They have the K-Frame in the 2013 catalog in the form of the Model 10, 18, 48, 64, 67 and 617.

Snub nose 454 or 460. The Ruger Alaskan needs some competition

And the 3rd Gen autos while we are at it

I wish they would re-release their M625 Mountain Gun in 45 Colt.

I know they will probably never eliminate the ILS but I also wish they would at lease make their Classic Line as they were made in the past, without that unsightly hole in the side plate.

Lastly, I would like S&W to produce a small alloy frame carry snub nose w/6 rounds of .38 Special like the Colt Cobra. I own a DS and the size doesn't bother me but I don't like the weight. One in alloy like the Cobra or even the Agent would be a great revolver to have on the market again. (especially since the snub nose K frames are no longer in production) If they can make an 8 round .357 Magnum snub nose "N" frame (M327) they can bring back the 6 round "I" frame too.

I like the .41 mag idea. Yeah the 296, 396, and 696 were made, but are now hard to find. I'm guessing bannockburn meant in current productionand readily available.

I'd kind of like to see an X-frame in 460 or 500 with a 6.5 inch bbl, with the weighted bbl system that the PC Competitor guns use.

Also, a 7 or 8 shot X-frame in .44 magnum would be really cool.

Snub nose 454 or 460.

They made a snub nosed 460 and I think it had a 2.5 inch bbl. I don't think it sold real well.

Wish S&W would...

Discontinue the key locks....I know that they probably wont do this, as it is not politically correct, but I hate that ugly flaw on an otherwise good looking gun!

Make the J frame in a 6 shot version in 38 spl.
