What do you guys think of a walther G22 as a .22? Good quality? I think I have a chance to snag one up with a red dot scope on it I think its NCstar? the red dot is adjustable. I think this is it but not sure http://www.centuriontactical.com/ncd4b.htm

Anyways, the guy bought it not long ago and has put maybe 300 rounds through it. I thnk I can get it for $350 face to face. Is this a good deal?

I dont really even want the rifle that badly, I just thought that was a super deal. But now that you have shown me that im really re thinking it..

what ive heard about the G22

i think its a cool looking gun, however...

ive heard that it has regular jamming issues. i also think that at least for my purposes, the sight is too high up from the bore. i like my sights or scope to be as close to the bore as possible so i dont have to guestimate the hold over/under at different ranges of my target.

good luck- Eric

yea I think it looks cooler then it is reliable, I hear the field strip on it is a pain as well... I guess Illjust stick my my older marlen .22 and stick a simmons 22 mag scope on it..:)

It's on the way.

I own a P22 (No issues in 850 rds) & I just ordered a G22 & P99. I have read good things so far. I will let U know how my experience with it is. I hope Walther's C.S. is better.:)

G-22 is a neat rifle. Mine did have a couple of feeding glitches when new but runs well now. Was tight and needed some lube.

They are NOT Jam-a-matics like some say.

Field stripping isn't all that bad either. Yes, you need to remove some screws and a pin (IIRC) to seperate the receiver from the stock but once you have done it, is is no big deal.

I removed the mag safety and put a cheap Simmons 42mm red dot on. Fun and accurate rifle.

And, they had a free Assault Case deal going but I don't know if it has expired yet. Nice case for free.

I shot one last week, owned by a friend. It was still fairly new.
It had at least one jam almost every magazine.
Maybe they get better with time, but I was not impressed.

Got mine about a year ago. It can jam one round + per magazine, but only on Remington golden whatevers--the 550 rounds/carton type. Really likes Winchester-anything. The rest of my .22s are bolts and all like the Rems best. Just the vagaries of .22 ammo in different rifles, maybe. And yes, the take-down is simple, is fussy, and is not fun. Not that hard but makes it easy to tell oneself, "I'll clean it next time." Sure is a blast, though.
