What is the difference between Wolf Military Classic lacquer coated ammo and the newer polymer coated ammo? MC has 124 Gr bullet while polymer coated newer Wolf has 122Gr bullet. My polymer Wolf ammo have bullets diameter measured .308, but I don't have any MC to check the diameter. Is Military Classic .310 bullet? AK and SKS should have .310 bore, I wonder why polymer coated Wolf have .308 dia bullets. Would MC shoot better out of AK and SKS?

The lacquer sometimes built up inside the works, not that it affected much of anything. It just looked gross. I don't know what the plastic will do.

I believe that Wolf and Wolf MC both have the polymer coating now.
The MC also uses the 8m3 sapsan bullet which is supposed to preform significantly better than the bullet from Wolf black box.
I went through all this a while ago when I picked up a case and I would recommend the Wolf MC.

I don't hunt, so i don't really care about expansion and fragmentation. Are they same diameter?

The Wolf MC stuff (on account of the "sardine can" storage solution) seems to be great for "put away" ammo.

For shooting in the present, or having more readily on hand, you may try some of the offerings from Barnaul. I've had good results with some stuff I bought a while back under the "Tiger" brand name, that was in fact Barnaul - 123gr HP, I think.

Golden Tiger is well-regarded around here. It works particularly well in my Romanian SKS -- quite accurate.

You've been steered correctly. They both run the same coatings now, both slugs are the same diameter, but the military classic has the better performing slug. It has also proven to be a bit more accurate in my 7.62X39 guns.

for the .223 at least the military classic has a slightly bigger primer and thicker casing than the regular wolf. i notice this because the regular seems to slip out of the plastic clip that comes with the regular ammo. it may vary but the classics seem to better. for the 7.63x39 i've shot all sorts or wolf and they all work fine. seem to get better accuracy with the soft nose lead tip.

I haven't seen lacquer on these cases in years. Unless you came across some really old ammo, the coating is polymer.

I've shot tons of the lacquer coated ammo in my SKS and never once had a problem.

I've also shot alot of the polymer coated MC ammo in my Bushmaster with zero problems.
