How do these compare to Winchester or CCI? Before I order 10,000 of'em, I'd like some imput as to whether these are good primers or not? Anybody have experience with them?

I have used the Wolf large and small pistol primers for 9mm.,38spec., 357mag., 45acp and 45 Colt. the only differance I can tell between Wolf and the Winchester that I used to use is the Wolf is much better on my wallet. Hope this helps.

I had to adjust the seating depth on my Hornady Projector press to get them to fully seat (had been using Magtech and Winchester previously).

Other than that they seem fine and are more "rounded" on the bottom which make them flip better -- too bad they are "upside down" in the packages, since they have so far all been in the same direction (Magtech was all mixed up, Winchester was right side up and didn't need flipping).

Certainly Winchester is not 33+% better.

Edit: I should note if you use the Dillon or other pac-man type pickup tubes the Wolf primers are oriented correctly for these. I use the Lee safety prime or FA vibrator to fill my tubes and Winchester was the right orientation for these. I've only used 1000 Wolf so far so don't take the orientation thing as gospel yet.

I normally use only Federal as my revolvers have very light triggers and only Federal goes bang every time. Could not get Federals and tried some Winchester and CCI then bought some Wolf.

In my guns, Wolf is almost as reliable as Federal - much better than CCI and slightly better than Winchester.

They are packed "upside down" which is easy to deal with by using a primer flip tray.

I prime with a hand held Lee Auto Prime - you can feel slightly more resistance with the Wolf primers which indicates to me that they are slightly larger in diameter - not enough to be a problem but I can feel the difference.

I like them but will buy Federals when I can find them. Only use large pistol primers as I load .45 ACP exclusively.

I prefer WInchesters.

However I ordered 5000 WOlf small pistol because price was an issue.

So far they are working out great for me in 9mm, 38 special and 357 magnum.

They are a smidge tighter seating in my brass, and that is only a problem for Seller &Belloit brass which seems to have tighter primer pockets.

I'd buy them again, and probably will, unless I can find WIN primers for under $25 per thousand delivered.

With 5K down the tube of a couple 9mm glocks, I have no complaints. and locally they are pretty cheap in 5K lots.....a shade cheaper then Mag Tech...
