I am looking to place an order for primers and I have found SELLIER & BELLOT for $22 a 1000. This is lower than any other primer I could find short of Wolf or Tula.

Anyone use them in the past? How did they compare to Winchester and CCI?

I am looking to place a 10,000 piece order so I don't want to order something that will give me trouble. I can get Winchester for $27. $5 difference i not worth a headache but $5 worth of saving without issue would be nice.

I have used about 500 of them so far without any problems. Fit primer pockets fine and all have gone bang first time. They are now my first choice when I can find them. I like the "gold" color too as opposed to the "silver" of CCI and Federal.
I have used S&B ammo for @15 years without any issues too and I assume they are using their primers in their ammo.

I have used the small pistol i found at Cabelas for 19.99 a 1000 and they worked fine. They were just as good as CCI and Winchester, if ever find for that price again i will surely buy without hesitation.

Wish I got them for that price. The Cabela's I bought mine at cost $25. I guess they don't have uniform pricing, probably regional prices.

They sometimes go on sale online but in store price will stay the same so you have to let them know at checkout they are on sale online to get the sale price. The Dundee Mi store had them for 19.99 about 2 weeks ago. They also have been getting in 22lr alot.

I just looked they are 19.99 right now at Cabelas but on backorder. If you find any in store they will give to you for 19.99. I think its only for the pistol primers the rifle is still 24.99.

Thanks for the advise. Did not know that. I thought the store price tracked with online price.

thanks for the online price info

My local (Buda, TX) cabela's has a lot of s&b primers. Did not know they'll honor the online price at the register!

Yep Cabelas has them for $19.99. added another 6K of them to the cabinet this week.
Plus I get 5% Military discount and no Sales Tax.
Buy umm and use with confidence.

I have not used them as individual componets but years back I shot a boatload of their ammo in several calibers. They all went bang.

I would buy without hesitating. I shoot the Tula primers in my handguns and I've never had a problem with them either.

You would think so. I have found quite a few things on the Cabelas website on sale but the store will have it for regular price so now i check online for everything that i purchase from there.

Gone thru 5-6k of them, no problems. Just picked up another 6k in Grand Junction, CO last week. Powder valley has them for 20.00 if you are ordering powder, you can add some primers to balance out the hm fee. Cabelas hm fee is only 20 vs 28 most other places.

Even with shipping the Cabela's price is pretty attractive. I just am not sure I am ready to buy 10 to 15 thousand. I will see if I can find some locally and try a few 1000 before I jump into the deep end of the pool.

You mentioned Wolf and Tula in your OP, I have been using cases of Wolf Sp . LP and SR for years. They are a bit hard but all go bang!. I understand your caution but doubt there is any issue with SB and or Magtech.

I'm at the end of my first 1000 of S&B SPP and they've been flawless.

What primer seating method are people using? I have a Lee Turret and am using the safety primer which worked great with CCI.

A lot of commercial (re)loaders have been using magtech/S&B by the hundreds of thousands to millions with no issues.

Any commercial primer has a failure rate that is infinitesimal. (It is pretty darn rare for one to not work.)

Cabellas over prices everything it seems

$20/1000 and $20 for hazmat is over priced??

Most places want $28 for hazmat.
I think $20/k is a good price. I bought a bunch.

I am using a Lee hand primer tool and a Hornady LNL, no problems seating with either.

Exactly $20/1000 without hazmat fee is cheaper than I can buy them wholesale.
