Well, after taking my frissen to the local shop where they case hardened it.
I tried it and found no diffrence. So i bought a new frissen. $10.00
Ok Nice spark now.
Ok I forgot. Renegade 50 cal .

Off to the range I went. With hunting accuracy on my mind. We have snow and it was snowing.

100 yds first shot 5 in low and 3 in to the right.
50 yds first shot was about the same.

Adjusted sites swabbed barrell and after a total of 10 shots with no misfires or failure to sparks.

I got 100 yds 4" group! Now we are talkin.

@ 50 yds I got 2 shot group touching about one inch above the bullseye!

Yeah baby, time to go for Deer in flintlock season, day after Christmas it starts... Yeah.... very happy if you couldn't figure that out.

How many rounds in the 4" group?

A 'two shot touching' group is interesting, but you really need a minimum of 3 shots to define a group.

I agree on the 2 shot touching part. But that was at 50 yds.

I had 4 shots in the 4 in group at 100yds..

If you saw what I was getting before, you would be happy too. This is WAY WAY WAY better.

:)

Great Shooting Group

Great shooting. Some BP rifles do really well, and most will do fine when you figure out the combo of powder, ball and patches.

Here's a picture of my group for the Navy Arms 58 cal Hawkin hunter, with minnie balls. (Lyman 577611 with over powder felt wad, greased base and grooves and over slug cardboard wad) This is a heavy load that kicks.

It's my hunting gun for moose and elk. Only got an elk so far, and had a hang fire on the Alaska moose, so missed him.
