Hey guys, going to be moving my shop into a 28x28 building and want to make very sturdy benches and shelving spaces above the workbenches. It will have central h/a and water. I have a 8' industrial table with a 2" thick butcherblock top that's 36" deep that has both of my Dillon's attached on either end now. So i'll keep that, then build it into the rest of the workbenches on both sides. Will also have a island in the middle of the floor for cleaning and such.

Looking for great photos and/or plans to build tables and shelving to have an organized, but functional work surface for all the calibers that I reload for.

Help me out please! Pics are very welcome, and other information is greatly appreciated!!!

First, you may find some value in this thread:

"Show us a picture of your reloading bench."

I've made a bunch of workbenches over the years, and I've concluded that even though the cost is a bit more, using a solid-core door as the work surface is often the best way to go. It's flat, it's smooth, it's not racking or twisting or anything else.

My main workbench is such a door. So is my secondary workbench. And my single-stage and progressive are on a half-door bench.

I personally like workbenches about 38" high. I can stand at them and work, comfortably, without my back bothering me from stooping over. A nice stool and it's a great place to work.

I also like to have about 8" of overhang in the front so I have some place for my knees to go if I'm sitting at that bench.

Finally, I always put small shelves above the workbench. Amazing how much junk you can get up and out of the way.

Here's a couple of recent pics of my shop:

All of the shooting forums that I visit have a "show me your bench" thread in the reloading section. Accurateshooter, Snipers Hide, 1911 forum, ect. There are some really neat and unique ideas out there.
