Walker Texas Ranger.....
I was watching this last night on cable......holy crap....all fingers on triggers while running and jumping and climbing...knocking on a door w/ the barrel of a Beretta(w/ finger on trigger)sweeping your partner........I thought Norris was a shooter?????If he is what's the deal?????I know he can't act,but come on....this display was horrible with regards to gun handling......:uhoh:

And don't forget those high explosive-incendiary rounds Walker carried in his sidearm. One shot and a car/truck/mobile home/school bus blows up.

This is usually on one of the tvs at the gym while I puff along. From my observations, it's the pointy elf boots or the big silly hats. They must constrict the flow of blood and cause one to ignore the Four Rules.:D

OTOH, I wish more of our DAs looked like that! Nubilicious!:D

I think walkers finger are the trigger was to make the scene scarier or to add the suspense it's not a video for safe gun handling nor should TV shows be responsible for that education.

Walker Texas Ranger.....
Not for BAD gun handeling, but for the lack of gun handeling!
In one episode he manages to get a female cop shot dead by the BG's, because he doesn't shoot the BG's pointing guns at them. He obviously want to show off the soles of his shoes (or whatever), so instead of using his gun, the female gets shot, and he gets to kick people. :banghead: :banghead: :rolleyes:

Have you ever seen the old Heat of The Night series. Besides the backward holsters, loose belts with holsters flopping all over the place, and sniper rifles deployed for taking felons out at 15 ft and the chief with his big ole .50 Desert Eagle, They also used full barreled shotguns as entry weapons.

24. Besides having a message about gun safety at the end of the show and a recomendation to contact AGS for more info, one of the "highly trained" agents wears his piece in a cross draw holster.

George...

hehehe... VIP is about the dumbest show on TV.. The amount of braincells killed by that show would fill the nile river..

I like Walker.. too bad he needs to learn how to handle a gun..

So instead of sitting on my bum, I emailed the network for Walker, Texas Ranger..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To those responsible for the TV series, Walker, Texas Ranger.
I am part of a gun forum online, and it has come to our attention that the Walker, Texas Ranger series has quite a bit of "UNSAFE" gun handling. This is disturbing to us gun owners, as it:
1) Misrepresents gun owners
2) Presents wrong gun handling methods to those who are not familiar with guns (like children)
3) Encourages dangerous gun practices
4) Misrepresents real Texas Rangers as well as other LEO
This is unacceptable and should be corrected. While we know asking for realism is asking too much, asking for gun safety shouldn't be.
I have included below, the 4 basic gun safety rules for your benefit, as it seems you do not know what basic gun safety looks like. Please, print and pass to the actors/actresses on the set. Better yet, please hire someone who is certified in firearms instruction to train all the actors/actresses in proper and SAFE firearm handling.
ow can anybody possibly leave out Frank Drebin and the police squad bunch?
That was a parody, though.
Worst gun handling in a TV series? Huh....I've never watched Walker, VIP, or 24.
The phaser handling in Star Trek: The Next Generation was pretty sad, though. Having your buddy sweep you with a 9mm is one thing; having him sweep you with something that can apparently vaporize you (while not doing any damage to the floor or walls nearby) at the push of a button is another....
Seems strange that Norris has been so successful by doing so many things very poorly. The one that bugs me the most is his singing. Didn't the SOCOM guys in Afghanistan use the "Walker, Texas Ranger" theme song to interrogate Taliban prisoners? :what:
Recently saw a Law & Order, the detective was at a range wearing ear protectors. He took the protectors off by using one hand on the left side and a pistol in his hand on the right side .
I have to agree with V.I.P. It's just a cartoon with live players. Besides, if I watch that show, my mind is always on something other than guns............except that the dark haired girl wears that double shoulder rig........:D
How about the opening credits to The Avengers, where Mrs. Peel brushes her hand through her hair while she's holding a revolver in that hand, and with her finger on the trigger ? :what:
Welll, any votes for "Starsky and Hutch"? I didn't pay much attention to the actual gun handling (or don't recall any errors if I did), but I gotta say, their room sweeping skills were askew at best.... I loved how the dark-haired one would always just jump into the doorway, feet spread, with that "BOO, I gotcha" kind of stance.:rolleyes:
Did someone say ''Frank Drebin'' .......
lol.gif
Now there is a true parody/comedy/over the top - sorta deal that really can get away with anything! No one .. I mean no one could with even just a grain of sanity and intelligence ever be fooled by that. (I hope). So I'll excuse the ''bad gun management'' there .... ''extenuating circumstances''!! :D
Leslie Nielson ... now there's one very funny guy!:p
Silver Bullet
"How about the opening credits to The Avengers, where Mrs. Peel brushes her hand through her hair while she's holding a revolver in that hand, and with her finger on the trigger ?"
Well, that's just 'cuz she always wanted her hair to grow out in....
bangs!
:what:
"...Leslie Nielson ... now there's one very funny guy..." All Canadians are funny. We have to be look what keeps getting elected by the imported voters. And who are neighbours are. Russians on one side, who ignore our territorial boundaries and your lot that do the same.
