The Presidential Fecal Roster

Fillmore
Pierce
Lincoln
Grant
Hayes
Garfield
Arthur
Cleveland
Harrison
Mckinley
Taft
Wilson
Harding
Coolidge
Hoover
Eisenhower
Johnson
Carter
Clinton

You know... it's a lot easier to just name the Presidents that rocked:

Washington
Adams
Jefferson
Jackson - Come on - he rocked... he had character.
Teddy
Kennedy - For a Democrat, he did outstanding.
Reagan
Bush 2

George Hill:

Eisenhower

Why Eisenhower? Other than a bit of fecklessness in not defending Oppenhiemer and Marshall against the charges of McCarthy et al., my impression is that Ike did at least an adequate job as POTUS.

As for Kennedy; mentally unstable, escalated our involvement in Vietnam, demonstrated incompetence at the Bay of Pigs, and was as immoral and cynical a man as has ever held the office of POTUS. I'd put JFK in the top 5 worst presidents of all time.

When I look at a President, I also look at his whole biography. Ike was an idiot for holding back Patton time and time again. He could have ended the war with Germany so much earlier... And he had no loyalty to those loyal to him... case in point Oppenhiemer and Marshall.

Personally, I don't like Lincoln either. He made a couple nice speaches but was really rather impotent in my opinion. He didn't really free the slaves, he didn't really "Hold the Nation Together" instead he did more to risk tearing it apart. Grant "Held the Nation Together"... And then subjugated the entire South so hard that it's still felt today. Way to go LINCOLN!!! YEAH!!! Feh. I think it's fortunate that he got shot so History would be sympathetic to him. If he hadn't been, history would have been more critical.

All the Presidents between Lincoln and Teddy - all of them impotent losers who were nothing more than figureheads and a big Beasts of Burden to the Congress. Teddy Roosevelt changed that and took the power back from Congress and made The Office something more. Taft took that meaning too far and got his fat butt stuck in the bathroom and broke a lot of furniture.... JFK brought some nobility and grace the whitehouse... he was a good man, really. Had some filandering, but really was a fine President outside the bedroom. War hero with some guts too. Very respectible. Handled the CMC just fine, didn't he?
Johnson's swearing in on the runway was utterly tacky and disgraceful... making the new widow stand in on top of that... the man was a bastard.
Carter should have stayed on the farm with the rest of his nuts.
Clinton was just a dog.... thought he was the next JFK, but was sadly mistaken...

By the way, what happened to all the votes from Americans overseas?

RobW, The Dems recruited teams of lawyers and sent them to every disputed county in Florida and to counties with a heavy military population. The marching orders to this team were to disallow every military absentee ballot possible. And this from the kind hearted, compassionate liberals! They were able to disallow a few; but the courts ruled against them in most cases.

Jackson - Come on - he rocked... he had character.

Jackson, in my opinion was the worst of all time. He took the land belonging to my ancestors, that they had title to, paid taxes on, and sent the Army to force them to “relocateâ€. My great grand parents (great three times) ran away and hid to avoid “The Trail of Tearsâ€. But they still lost their plantation, their money, and all of their possessions. He ranks as the all time worst from my perspective.

We are still re-fighting the Vietnam War. At that same time we initiated the Socialist experiments that have destroyed our cities and ruined so many promising lives. Carter drove the country even harder Left, devastating the military and Clinton who really, sincerely, tried to finally destroy our Nation.
So, the worst presidents:
1) JFK
2) LBJ
3) Carter
4) Clinton
5) The next Democrat president, whoever it may be.

By his second term, Ronald Regan was a disaster. He was senile. The poor man couldn't even remember his dogs name. His handlers had to keep him away from the press because there was no telling what he might say.
Jimmy Carter never unstood the role of the president.
Bill Clinton couldn't keep his pant on long enough to run the country.
Lyndon Johnson and JFK were just plain crooks and moral degenerates.
The last good president was Harry Truman. Common sense and uncommon vision.
Just my $0.02 worth.

You would be hard-pressed to find any POTUS who did nothing at all right and just as hard-pressed to find one who did nothing wrong. If you can find no fault with a particular president, then I suspect you are giving in to the cult of personality for that man. If you can find nothing that a particular president did right, then you are blinded by something, partisan loyalties or single-issue ideology most likely.
Two presidents who did more to destroy this country, IMO, than any others are Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. Yet even they did some things right. No man is perfect, neither perfectly right nor perfectly wrong.

I think, John Quincy Adams did most things right during his presidency. :)

He was a honest man with high moral standards.

1) Hoover
2) Roosevelt
3) Lincoln
4) Clinton (tie)
4) W. Bush (tie)

Carter was an idiot. He pushed so many do-gooder social programs on the country at one time that we nearly collapsed upon ourselves, but I think he was merely unsuited for high office. Those presidents listed above were borderline evil.

Mikul, I know Hoover was president when the market crashed in 1929, but was he to blame for that? From what I've read, he tried to warn against the patterns of investment and speculation that led to that event. Some researchers have claimed that were it not for the Smoot-Hawley tariffs--which I believe Hoover opposed--the Depression would have been less of a worldwide event. Others have written that the worst was actually behind, by the 1932 campaign year.

Do you have other information?

I gotta get in on this one.

Actually, I'm gonna be serious to a fault here.

There were some presidents I didn't like, some really bad policies put into place that boardered on insane and some that just plain were insane. Be that as it may though, the office of the Presidency is a thankless job that requires the greatest of intestinal fortitude as well as an increased thickening of the dermal layers to withstand the political spears being hurled at you 24/7 while in office.

So who was the worst President? Depends on who you ask. The same holds true for asking who the best president was.

As to who held office when some of the worst policy in the history of the world was implimented? That distinction should be given to Jimmy Carter (although I truly believe he is a good man at heart). I would lump Clinton into that as well except for the fact that he and his administration implimented virtually nothing (except excessive taxation) in a total of 8 years; nothing of consequence anyway. So from that perspective Clintons reign was seemingly a pretty good two terms ;)

Take care folks,

1. The next Dem prez or me (which ever comes first)
2. Carter (a shamelessly bad leader, busted the econony, won't go way)
3. Clinton (shamelessly bad, started the process that busted the econony, also won't sink into oblivion)
4. LBJ (53K dead in SVN and no plan to win it,ever)
5. FDR (put the federal government on a path we can't get it away from)

Worst president? Lincoln, any president who is willing to kill 600,000 Americans and destroy an entire region of the country for any reason just plain sucks.

Others, FDR, Klinton, Carter, Grant, Jackson(for what he did to the Indians), most of the presidents between 1865 and 1900,

I kinda like Truman, his big mistake was getting us involved in the UN. I have also heard he liked Stalin but I can't confirm this so I will hold judgement on this. Like Truman, I'm from Missouri, Show Me Baby!!

Favorite president? Washington or Jefferson Davis. :D

I have to agree with Selfdfenz...

I would only amend this by simply saying that in my opinion FDR has had the most negative impact of any President in the 20th century. No one did more to put us on the path of socialism than that man, thus I would have to rate him as far worse than the others. I predict that this November America will install another, equally dangerous "progressive". Whether or not he surpasses FDR in this regard is not a possibility, but rather a certainty.
