Two magazines:

1. Range Magazine, with articles on ranching, land restoration, wolves, feral horses, federal agency activities. From a western rancher's viewpoint, but quite factually accurate. Published quarterly, $19.95 per year. www.rangemagazine.com

2. Texas Wildlife. Monthly from the Texas Wildlife Associates. An associate membership is $35/year. Many articles about wildlife in Texas, from a hunter's standpoint. Political news as well as many informative articles. www.texas-wildlife.com

I began as a full member, but cut back after the organization became fully established. They've built to a good lobbying capability for ranchers and hunters.

Looks like a good magazine written by folks that work and live on the land. Used to be if you worked and understood the land you made out, if you didn't you moved on. Now if you don't understand what this life is all about you move to Washington..

Most everything we buy at Wal*Mart is made in China except the beans, corn, cereal, chicken, beef & pork. It's great to see that we still manufacturer something. The farmers & ranchers have a valuable insight to climate and economic issues that affect all of our lives. When you talk to a farmer or rancher it's best to spend 20% of your time talking and 80% of your time listening.

The "Range" magazine looks good, but the link to the Texas-Wildlife just takes me to Go-Daddy.

I rarely buy hunting/shooting/gun mags anymore as most have nuttin' but the same old crap, and contain more pages of advertising than legitimate reading. Reviews for new guns are to easy to find on the interweb. One I get free with my Conservation Patron's License and I enjoy is "Wisconsin Natural Resources" put out by our DNR, and contains not only hunting and fishing info, but other conservation news along with local environmental issues. It also has good articles on Non-Game species in the state.
