Would a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 hold up on a .300 Win Mag?

Hey folks,

I have a stainless Encore in 300 Win Mag that I want to get ready for next elk season.

What are your thoughts on a 4.5-14 Nikon Buckmaster on this rifle? With no muzzle break I think it's going to kick, will the scope hold up?

I have that scope on a Mini 14, going on 1500 rds, no problems. The double recoil of the semi auto is hard on scopes. I have a box full of broken scopes from air rifles, the Mini 14 gives the same abuse. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

My wife bought the Buckmaster for me, for Christmas.
It is going on my M1A.
(No, it's not installed yet. I'm saving for a Sadlak mount.)

As for the .300 Win Mag. . . yes, it should hold up.

A good friend has the scope on a K98k Mauser. He shoots the living heck outta this rifle.

He really likes it. Tough scope for the money.

The Nikon Monarch is a much better scope. You get what you pay for.
