Hi all,

I am looking for my first concealed carry piece and one of the guns I'm looking at is the Sig P239 9mm DAK. The factory grips feel ok to me, but the only thing I don't really care for is the relatively flat front grip strap. After an extended test session on the range, it started to ache my hand.

The CTC laser grips for the P239 have a wrap-around front strap that seems like it would really help. I also like the idea of laser grips on a personal protection piece, but... would rubber laser grips have more of a tendancy to catch on clothing and print more than the stock grips? To those that use CTC laser grips on CCW guns, what has been your experience?

Also, a related question about the P239 front strap... has anyone found a way to round out the front strap of this gun to make it a bit more comfortable? Maybe apply some sort of curved rubber piece? Just thinking out loud. I know some of you may simply suggest getting the P229 instead, which I guess is an option.

Thanks for your feedback on these two questions!

Chris

I had a set on a Taurus M85, I loved the grips, easy to hit with in about any position, they didn't hinder my carry at all. IWB or OWB. I got rid of the pistol NOT because of the grips, but because I can't shoot a wheel gun worth beans! I shoot a CZ PCR 9mm now and as soon as I can come up with the money, it's going to get CTs. I have 2 K&D holsters One in and One out waist band and I'll have to see if there's any problem. (I don't think there will be, as the grips don't set deeply into either holster) CT's are great for us more "mature" adults that need glasses for reading etc, but have good distance vision. Also if you haven't check out the CZ line of pistols, there are some great guns there for not a lot of money..

Be safe..

I've considered laser grips for my eventual carry gun (when I am old enough to protect myself:uhoh: ). My main concern is that it might not promote use of either hand to shoot. Never used laser grips, but if my right hand is somehow incapacitated, maybe they would be difficult to turn on, or they would be built to be held in the right hand.

The CTC grips on my Beretta 92 have a push button that is in a "natural" place to be pushed in (on) when you grip the gun with either hand.
