and... NO.

And, in case I forgot to say it... Um... no.

Uh uh.

Nope.

No.

+1 and +1

Pardon me if I missed the post, but would the person who voted yes care to speak upon why?

you have a weapon with ammo in it aimed at someone.
then you have someone standing in front of a target while the other one has a loaded firearm and is shooting against time.

I can see several ways that this can go wrong, especially in the second part if someone shoots before the other one clears the range.

so I would NOT do this drill, would not participate, watch, condone or be at the range if someone tried this drill.

If you really want to do something like this, use an airsoft (with face mask) or a blue gun.

Please reconsider if you plan on doing this, I'd hate to see an obituary on this board...

Yeah, my buddies and I do this drill all the time. We save it for last, after the beer's gone and the finger-spinning display gets boring.

Some of us even do the apple-off-the-head trick. The kids love that one.

On a serious note, that drill is insane. I voted no.

this drill belongs in the same basket of tactical trainings as the one where you have ten seconds to locate the sniper by the glint of his scope and dry fire with your crosshairs pointing through the lens of your partner's scope.

Okay, somebody help me with the number. The basic firearms rule that states, "never point a firearm at anything you don't intend to shoot.";)

Partner takes weapon and points it at head of shooter, finger off trigger.
What kind of situation is this supposed to replicate? I'm doubting that BG's will be following the 4 rules... though it might be useful if you got mugged by Jerry Miculek. :neener:

Not gonna happen. When I practice dry-fire with a semi, the magazine's out... this is a teriffic thing to try with spring-powered airsoft guns - they have a more 'realistic' trigger than the (cheap) electric ones.

Because guns aren't toys. Running this drill involves breaking the basic rules of gun safety and one slip up is a good way to end up wounding or killing yourself or another.

On top of that, there's nothing that this drill would teach you that can't be learned using airsoft or red guns.

This is the absolute stupidest thing I've read about doing with a live firearm in at least a month.
