Would You Buy AK Ammo At This Price?

It hasn't, and it won't be. EOTechRulesAll is learning in front of us what other importers already know. While he has ambition, he is lacking in experience. I hope nobody is counting on this actually happening while passing up that which is currently available.

Maybe true (sadly I fear more than maybe) but let us not discourage him. I for one hope he can get it done and not just for the benefit of cheaper ammo. Love it when a average guy reaches for the stars. Very American, no?

Reality need not be discouraging. It is what it is. I hope he pulls it off. I'll buy a fair number of cases if he does. What I won't do is put off buying ammo that is currently available, even if it's more expensive, on the off chance that a guy that currently has no business license and no import experience is going to accomplish what the big players in the industry haven't.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, but I shan't allow them to dash my hopes so easily... It takes more than the ATF and their pathetic rules to stop me when I am determined...

I'll try all legal avenues of remedy before giving up... This means first getting in touch with my Congressmen...

I would go right out and sue, but what can I say, I've got a good number of bills at the present time and probably ought to wait a while before I undertake what could turn into a major legal case.

I am currently trying to think of 1- what to say to my Congressman that might actually get him moving on this matter (this won't be that hard, well to think of something, it'll be hard to think of something that will inspire him to take action that will get our cause anywhere) and then 2- where to attack this problem using the law, wording of the laws, and other laws, when number 1 fails.

well i want to say thank you for trying. if i was an ohio resident i'd offer to write a letter to help as well. if you think a letter from a NYS resident would help pm me and i'd be happy to start up a letter campaign with you

Dumb question. Would one be able to import the bullets themselves. There is a good market for .311 bullets for all those 303 Enfields and such. That or what if instead of steel, they used pig iorn. Since it technically isn't steel, would that be OK????

Now perhaps this might work...

The Supreme Court once ruled that a man who had a sawed-off shotgun was not protected because the weapon had no practical use for militia duty (he was claiming to be a citizen paramilitary, etc) and that the Second Amendment basically only applies to weapons with a reasonable militia use.

Bush has declared that we are war with terror, there are no front-lines, the enemies can be anywhere, and that we are all soldiers in this war...

Because of that, I believe I am therefore entitled to be able to equip myself in a manner similar to our conventional military forces.

Does anybody believe that this argument holds some water?

You can take that to L&P for discussion, let's not mess up this thread with that debate.

Mike

EOTech, from my studies of constitutional law, the argument you posed would not be very strong at the SCOTUS level.

I don't think we will be an effective citizen defense force unless everyone in good physical condition with no criminal record is required or at least strongly encouraged to be armed. This is not a mute point, because left wing terrorists have repeatedly wrecked havoc against bank personnel, local police, and innocent bystanders. You have to watch documentary-style cable or satelite channels such as Court-TV, Discovery, History, etc. because the "mainstream" media has a blackout on covering left-wind terrorism. I guess it's not polically correct to even mention the Black Liberation Army and other non-white racist terrorist groups.
Beat-cops have quietly been urging citizens to arm themselves with self-defense and home-defense weapons, but have usually been undercut by politicians with their own agenda. The "mainstream" media's propaganda has put women and the elderly at great risk, and some local govenments such as Chicago and Washington, D.C. have disarmed the populace and made their cities more dangerous than most combat zones. I'ts still safer to be an US soldier in Iraq than to live in Washington, D.C.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that you cant buy steel core ammo for plinking; but you can legaly buy tungsten core ammo for big game hunting:rolleyes: I'm refering to Barnes MRX rounds.

Keep at it, Eo!

Well, keep up the good work. Many of us (possible customers) are watching with keen interest.

I'm in with the rest of the guys wanting a couple of cases when you actually get the ammo stream going.

A couple of observations - first, there's little good to be had actually ARGUING with the Feds, regardless how solid your logic is and in the total absence of theirs. I'd accept that the law is what it is (stupid, but there and enforcable) so you have to find out what you CAN do that they'll be happy with - and try to get it in writing so they don't easily change their minds later.
("Hey, I have this LETTER from your chief that says this stuff is okay"):scrutiny:

Second, I think you can really make this work if you stick with "customer satisfaction" driving your work. If you put a little website together and keep posted the "in stock" status, and actually ship when you say you will, maybe even drop a guy an email when his stuff ships, you will have plenty of business. My pet peeves are suppliers who sell stuff that's been out of stock for a month and never tell you until you call when they're a month late. :fire: I figure this could be a problem for you 'cause you're at the mercy of your supplier. If you post stock status and do what you say you're going to do, when you say so, there's LOTS of us that would buy from you JUST for that.:cuss:

GOOD LUCK to you! If you can pull this off, all the other stuff (like the other ammo ideas) may follow very well.

Lemme know if you need a partner when you get this worked out. I'm in Minnesota, so if you have a "west of the Mississippi" shipping differential since ammo's heavy, we can talk :D

Apparently I cannot even get an FFL because I do not have a physical store-front... From what I have been told they are no longer doing "basement/kitchen" FFLs or "gun show" FFLs or "online store" FFLs. They never even mailed me the paperwork since I requested it at my only address, my home address. They did mail me my Curio and Relic paperwork, but that is easy stuff... A gun dealer friend of mine told me that if you don't use a business address, they won't even send you the forms for an FFL these days, let alone issue you one...

Not to mention right-wing terrorists like Tim McVeigh.

But, I'm in for a case.

Best of luck with you on this, I would love to see the ATF challenged as much as possible on every single unconstitutional law and policy they try to enforce.
