Would you make this trade?

MIL-DOT, congrats on the new CZ, and another congrats for figuring out a way to get it AND keep the Glock 17.

LOL, thanks,Pappy ! I'm pretty stoked right now! :D

I've had more malfunctions with CZ than all other brands combined. Never had a single issue with any Glock. No way I'd make that trade.
I'm surprised to hear that. I've heard almost nothing but great things about them, for years. And now that prices seem to be rising, and availability suffering in some locales, I've been reading stuff like, "bummer, i guess the secret's finally out".
I had a BD model a while back, and it was awesome, but I traded it to good buddy, and now it's his #1 favorite pistol. Neither of us had a single hiccup with it, and this one seems to be running like a scalded dog,as well.
Could be you just had some bad luck and ran into a lemon or two, I dunno.

Besides, we aren't talking about priceless, irreplacable Rembrandts here,

Well not yet ;) One never knows what way the collectable wind blows, trading an out of production gun(from a top tier US maker) for a current production gun...well it would give me pause.

Ive had more failures out of my Glocks than i have had in more than one other brand. In fact I've had one brand with zero failures through more than 10,000 rounds. So that is proof of what? Nothing.

Unless it says those two brands are better or the one is the best? Oh i don't think so. Just not a fair assessment. And neither is yours.

Its hard to reverse the affects of a good salesman. Just ask Nike. But shoot enough rounds out of enough different pistols and then one will see that reliability today among multiple brands is pretty equal across the board.

Good to hear (great story by the way), that you "got it done" and have your like new CZ75! Typically CZs have been hard to come by around where I live but i finally found a gun shop about an hour and a half away that carried them. Fortunately for me the sales clerk at the store who orders the guns is also a CZ fan! At the time I had my choice of a P01 (which I really wanted), a P06, and a P07. They even made me such a great offer on a Kadet .22 conversion kit with the P01 that I bought it too! Very happy all the way around with my CZ.

Want or need ? A truism for sure. If you need folks to push you in one direction or another...... you need to make up your mind!

I would trade. Then again, I'd trade a Glock for a pile of compost.

Just kidding, but you get the point. I'm sort of set in my ways, being as old as I am. Also, I own 2 absolutely superb CZs. A 75B and a 75 Compact. I'm sold on CZs and it's my opinion that Glocks have no soul, while CZs definitely do... and character.

Sounds like you might have avoided being in the middle of a robbery or something else bad going down. Good on you for having your spidey-sense on alert and staying out of potential trouble, and for giving the guy a chance to show he was a straight-up guy. You may have saved both of you from a lot of trouble. And you got a nice gun in the end. That's a win all around.

Nice. I would have made either trade you did, I like the G17 just fine, but I've found I shoot a G19 just as well, and its easier to carry. Plus I really want a CZ 75.

I like the 3rd gen S&W's fine, but I would prefer a 75B myself.
