Would you trade a Beretta 92fs for S&W 686-3?

+1 radagast. I own both, and I won't sell either.Italian 92's are slick, so are 686-3's. Keep the 92, pay $ for the 686. If you can't afford it, save up for one.

If I had to make a choice, I'd go with the S&W, but I would try to do everything to keep the 92. Both are great guns that everybody should have in their collection :D

I would, but that's just my preference.

I already own a 92fs and a S&W 586 6" barrel.

I can't shoot that 92fs worth anything but my 586 has got the sweetest trigger. Wouldn't mind a stainless to go with it.

1) try and own both
2) If you can't own both, pick the one you shoot better with. Accuracy trumps resale value in a defensive pistol imo.

that's my free advice.

Both are desireable......the 92 is an Italian one and guys seem to like them a lot, and the S&W is the pre MIM and lock one. I like both and have both. Tough call, but I would try to sell the Beretta to someone willing to pay the slight premium for an Italian one and then get the S&W which in some parts of the country are still cheap.

Trade is not in my vocabulary.

Repeat after me. . . ."Supplement, not replace." Say again. . . "Supplement, not replace."

Keep the Italian made Beretta 92. Save or even borrow the money for the 686. It's not that much pocket change.
In the very near future, you may not be able to replace the 92.

I sold a Colt Combat Commander (like a fool) and regret it EVERY day!
