Would you trade a Ruger Blackhawk convertible for a Makarov?

I finally sold the Makarov today outright! It's been several months, but Armslist finally came through. The guy didn't even haggle...he seemed to know what it was and what the entire package was worth. I'm relieved.

Now...on to the next gun purchase. My collection seems to have a hole in it and I've got some cash in my pocket.

Legionnaire, when I shot cowboy action years ago, I used 2 stainless Vaqueros with 4 5/8" barrels in .45 Colt. They were pretty and fun. I now have a 4" GP 100 in .357. It's the only revolver I own. Yep, Ruger revolvers are solid.

Sorry your deal fell through.
I have a .45 Colt Blackhawk and have considered sending it to Ruger to have it fitted with an ACP cylinder.
I probably won't though. I handload and cast, so loading .45 Colt is a very minimal cost difference.

Congrats on the sale, LocoGringo. :)

Thanks chicharrones!

That cash burned a hole in my pocket so quickly that I ended up buying a somewhat used Gen 4 Glock 17 with night sights (not sure of the maker, but better than the factory night sights) and a EFK Firedragon aftermarket barrel from my 3-gun sponsor for exactly $400. Yay me! I managed to turn the whole Makarov package into a duplicate of the pistol I carry at work (only a little better). I cleaned it tonight and other than a VERY little holster wear on the outside of the slide at the muzzle, it looks brand new. I'll have to give it a good testing sometime soon and see how I shoot with it and the aftermarket barrel.

It took a lot of patience and saying "not interested in trades", but I finally got what I wanted.

Win/Win!

Way to go with the sale of the Mak and for using the cash to get your slightly used Glock 17!

Sorry to hear of the deal falling through, I would trade for a quality USA made gun anytime, resale of USA revolvers are usually relatively good, Mac's go up and down and as you've found out hard to sell for what you have in it. I've got a Sig P230 stainless in near mint and have tried to sell it several times with only crazy low offers or low ball trades offered. My son had it given to him for helping a friend move, we both found out that his $150 Mac shoots better and is less picky about it's choice of ammo than the fine? Sig!!!

Makarovs are Russian copies of the PPK. They couldn't even get the cartridge right. Should have been the German 9 mm Kurz. Always trying to be different.

Rugers are American.

You can't sell a 230? In my neck of the woods a 230 would be gone before a Makarov. Must be the demographics. Macs are surplus, 230's are commercial. The only Mac that will bring more than a 230/232 around here is German built Mac. Not many of those about these days.
