Wow, 700 for a new 686-6?

I am about to sell a 340PD to a buddy and get another 4in .357mag to replace my gone and loved GP100 in 4in heavy. Anyway, Went to look around at a local GS to see what they had in stock hoping to either find a 19 in 4in or a GP100 4in. Saw only one 4in 357mag and it was a new 686-6 and priced at $700.00! Wow, no wonder I have not bought a new S&W lately!

Wish me luck to find a clean used 4in .357 guys! I have three more shops to go to today.

Find a nice clean used pre lock 686. Superior revolver for less money. Everything you need and nothing you don't, to paraphrase another old revolver guy.

Used 686's can be had for around $500 or so. They hold their resale value better than the current production junk as well. Good luck! TJ

Good luck. The used ones are high, high around here. Personally, I won't likely ever buy one with a lock.

I bought a nice pre-lock 686 for $350 late last year at a gun shop. But the salesman screwed up when he quoted me the price. I wasn't even looking to buy a gun, but when he said "$350", I said, "I'll take it."
