Wow, primers really do matter

This is not the first time I've heard Tula primers cause accuracy problems. In the past I have ignored the reports because they were just reports. This time there is proof so IMO it's more credible.

Probably some of the best shooting I've done, in part because it was only 5 yards.

I just don't see 5 yards off hand as being a valid test for the accuracy of primers. Maybe its just me.

Me three. I think 15-25 yards off sandbag/rest using several 5-shot groups and getting an average to determine accuracy comparisons would be better but I do not think primer brand will make enough difference for pistol loads when you could get .1-.2 gr variations in powder charges and 1+ gr variations in bullets.

Ding DING we have a winner! I load for bullseye shooting, so accuracy is the biggest concern, and it comes via consistency. I can interchange Win, Fed, or Tula primers with no difference whatsoever, in my loads.

Not to throw a wet blanket on things:
Sample size is too small to make any real statistical conclusions.
I find that it takes at least five 5-shot groups at a distance of at least 25 yards to really have any idea how a given load performs. It is not uncommon to get one or two superb groups, but it is the consistency of the groups that matters.
